About Me

Hi, I'm Lexy Truth — yes, that's my real name.

I created Single Truths because I was tired of the embarrassment that came along with being the single friend.

So here I am, rewriting what it means to be single — one post at a time.

Welcome

I want Single Truths to be a community where women feel welcomed. I want you to feel seen and heard. I want to disperse those ugly lies we’ve been telling ourselves.

I want Single Truths to be somewhere you look for confidence and for encouragement to be comfortable in your singleness.

Get to Know Me

I’m a senior at Utah Tech University in St. George with a passion for storytelling. In fact, Single Truths is my senior capstone project. For the past two years, I’ve served as editor-in-chief of Utah Tech’s Sun News Daily, and this semester, I’m interning with The Salt Lake Tribune. When I’m not writing or editing, you can catch me on the air hosting my weekly radio show, Vinyl Vault, on 91.3 The Blaze. Music is a huge part of my life. I’ve been to around 40 concerts, with favorites including James Taylor, Elton John, Kacey Musgraves, Stevie Nicks, the Goo Goo Dolls and Role Model, and some of my favorite musicians are Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac.

Beyond academic work, I love paddle boarding in the summer, camping trips and shopping at T.J. Maxx. Movies were my first love and inspired my journey into journalism. Through my love of critiquing films, I created my own film column, Big Screen Verdict. My all-time favorite director is Cameron Crowe and if Letterboxd ever asks me my Four Favorites, I'd say "Elizabethtown," "Almost Famous," "The Parent Trap" and "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again." I’m also an avid reader of Rolling Stone Magazine and anything by Dolly Alderton or Alice Hoffman.
